per week (Benefited) FLSA Non-Exempt Broad Scope and Function This
position will provide direct support for the Director of Sacramento
State's Center for College & Career Readiness ( CCR ) and the Early
Assessment Program ( EAP ). This will consist of coordinating
services for matriculating students via the Transition to Success
Program, particularly during their first year on campus. This
position will assist the BSP Project Manager in devising a plan for
coordination between the CSUS and CA Community College SSSP
(Student Success and Support Program) departmental staff to advise,
mentor and direct students based on their respective CAASPP
(California Assessment of Student
Performance and Progress) college readiness assessment results and
their senior year course taking patterns. In addition, this
position will conduct outreach presentations and coordinate
activities with grades K-12 and the community to increase program
awareness and foster a college-going culture among area youth as
well as continue to work with our external constituents in regards
to early readiness signals via the Early Assessment Program.
Reporting Relationship The position reports directly to the
Director of the Center for College & Career Readiness. Works
closely with the Research & Technology Coordinator and other
Student Initiative Coordinators.
Conditions of Employment This is a full-time, temporary up to April
30, 2021 (may be extended) non-exempt (eligible for overtime pay),
benefited position with a defined contribution retirement plan
through TIAA . (The position is not covered under the California
Public Employees' Retirement System). Continued employment in this
position is dependent upon funding and the mutual consent of
University Enterprises and the employee, and either University
Enterprises or the employee, can, at any time, terminate the
employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Program
continuation is contingent upon funding.
Work Schedule Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelors Degree in one of
the Behavioral or Social Sciences, Education or a related field, or
equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
2. Demonstrated experience in advising, education, or a related
student services field and working with students in academic and/or

college readiness signals, remediation, or high school senior year
4. Ability to create and conduct workshops on the Early Assessment
Program, CAASPP test results, and the tenets of the Basic Skills

and coordinating many different tasks, determining the importance
of each, re-prioritizing if necessary, setting deadlines, and
completing projects accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications 1. Demonstrated experience conducting
presentations and speaking in front of groups.
2. Knowledge of the K-12 and community college systems and academic

3. Experience organizing group activities specific to middle and
high school students.
4. Experience coordinating academic summer boot camps.
5. Knowledge of database systems, web applications, and social

Job Duty 01. Assists in the development of a plan to adjust high
school outreach and recruitment practices to advise, mentor and
direct students based on their respective CAASPP college readiness
assessment results and their senior year course taking
Job Duty 02. Assists the Director in utilizing CAASPP college
readiness indicator from students' junior year in high school to
ensure they are placed in the appropriate Math course.
Job Duty 03. Provides outreach visits to high school junior and
senior classes to disseminate information on early college
readiness signals, remediation and senior year transition
Job Duty 04. Meets with Transition to Success ( TSP ) program
students regularly during their CSUS freshman year to assess their
progress both academically and socially with a focus on students
who participated in the EAP Sr.Yr. Math ( ESM ) course.
Job Duty 05. Works with program staff to conduct mid-semester
progress reports and plan outreach visits and special learning
opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Job Duty 06. Under the direction of the Director, provides
information on professional learning opportunities (Expository
Reading and Writing Course ( ERWC ) and the ESM ) to area high
schools and community colleges to align curricular expectations as
well as pedagogy.
Job Duty 07. Facilitates the launch of the pilot Junior Year Boot
Camp for rising high school juniors with feeder high school
districts and its integration with the TSP .
Job Duty 08. Under the direction of the Director, meets with and
addresses a variety of groups, including, but not limited to:
school/college administrators, board members, officials of public
and private agencies and corporations, to gather and disseminate
information relative to a variety of Center initiatives, external
programs, partnerships, and long-term project results.
