Overview
**This position is a temporary role slated until the end of
February 2023**Primary focus will be assisting Associates who
request a Leave of Absence. Working directly with Associates,
business units, third party administrators, payroll, and human
resources to ensure a smooth LOA process occurs with each
Associate. Also, provide assistance with some Benefits
administration.
Responsibilities
-
- Notify HR and managers of leave requests
- Partner with managers to verify/confirm leave start and end
dates
- Follow-up with Associates on upcoming deadlines for paperwork
such as medical certifications, fitness for duty forms and all
other LOA forms
- Follow-up with Associates a few days prior to scheduled return
to work date to confirm their return to work date and ensure
fitness of duty form is received (if applicable)
- Partner with HR and managers to see if work restrictions can be
accommodated
- If a leave is denied, follow up with Associate as to why denied
and what is needed to get it approved and notify manager/HR as
well
- Discuss status of leaves with managers and HR (approvals and
denials)
- Answer emails from the LOA mailbox
- Work closely with 3rd party LOA administrator
- Assist with LOA audits
- Thoroughly review LOA packets, paperwork and process with
Associates who request a leave of absence by making outbound calls
and emails to Associates
- Answer emails from the Benefits Help Desk mailbox
- Process benefit invoices
- Assist with other various tasks that are assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with Leaves of Absence and
strong knowledge of FMLA regulations and various state
programs.
- Proven customer service skills including empathy, compassion,
patience and positivity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge Additional

Interact well with co-workers and associates at all company levels;
Cross train with other Benefits team members; Fill in to assist
with essential job duties from other team members where needed;
