Meek's Lumber and Hardware, a division of USLBM, originated in Lockwood, Missouri, where Charles C. Meek opened the company's first lumberyard in 1919. In the early 1930s Charles C. Meek, Jr. relocated the business to its current headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. In the 1950s Charles C. Meek Jr. ventured to Northern California and opened the first Meek's yard on the West Coast which has since grown with the acquisition of many local lumber yards.We are currently looking for a -Sawyer (Engineered Wood Cutter) -for our -Elk Grove, CA -location.What you should know about working at Meek's Lumber and Hardware:

  • Operating a saw/pit saw and cutting wood to specific dimensions to contractor specifications
  • Organize cut product requested in bundles for shipment to job sites
  • Responsible for sweeping, disposing of scrap wood, etc.
  • Keep area clean and organized.We want you to build your career with us! Can you check all of these boxes?
    • Experience. -Construction experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidates! - -Ability to read a tape measure and operate machinery
    • Physical. -Ability to stand for 8-10+ hour work shifts
    • Heavy Lifting. -Ability to lift up to 75lbs consistently and bend, twist, squat and reach throughout work shift
    • Willingness. -Must have the drive to learn
