Position Summary: 

The Manager, Dealership Vertical Sales is responsible for defining the sales strategies deployed by the ALLDATA sales teams for his/her specific vertical. They define and document opportunities as well as establish market driven business requirements that are used to create products, programs or enhancements. They are ultimately responsible for providing market intelligence that contributes to identifying the product needs to the market which satisfy specific and identified business objectives. They define the strategy specific to their verticals to maximize ALLDATA product penetration. They identify and participate in major account transactions.

Job Responsibilities - Other duties may be assigned:

  • Identify market demand and business needs and maintain direct customer contact to determine market opportunity.
  • Define business requirements and drive the creation of approved new products and features.
  • Ensure the effective development of vertical strategic plans and ensure those plans are successfully executed and managed.
  • Identify and monitor competitive industry/non-industry business environment to assess market trends and opportunities.
  • Regularly communicate sales/market strategy, initiatives and key segment information to stakeholders.
  • Lead and provide business oversight on negotiations with key clients
  • Regularly solicit direct feedback from customers to aid in managing the overall experience.
  • Jointly develop vertical market field strategies with leadership and monitor progress on an ongoing basis and report deficient/gap areas.
  • Work with organization to complete pre-launch market testing and evaluation.
  • Work with internal organizations to successfully launch and maintain products via a proactive and effective program.
  • Generate and close vertical opportunities contributing to the department revenue goals
  • This position has no direct reports.

Education, Skills and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in related business,
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in similar role, or a related industry.
  • Dealership experience and or experience selling DMS,CRM or other related products into the dealership environment preferred
  • Deep experience with strategic selling and building strong customer and internal relationships.
  • Demonstrated success at identifying and synthesizing customer needs into a concise, clear and influential presentation.
  • Punctual, self-motivated and able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to requests timely.
  • Excellent planning skills, and ability to effectively manage priorities and meet requirements and deadlines in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Experience with Internet based products required.  E-commerce and automotive, a plus.
  • Exceptional business case analysis, planning, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Capable of interacting with multiple levels within an organization and communicating company goals to external organizations.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.  On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
