FIELD LAND SURVEY PARTY CHIEF QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal and successful Field Land Survey Party Chief will be a decisive, positive, detail-oriented land survey professional, who can work independently and communicate well with other project team members. The ideal Land Survey Party Chief will have a minimum of 3 years of land survey party chief experience and certification as a Land Surveyor-in-Training, LSIT. FIELD LAND SURVEY PARTY CHIEF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Organize and manage field survey crew efficiently. Accurately calculate and record field data Adhere to established company policies and assure that the crew follows standard procedures. Performs field survey activities in accordance with standards set by State statutes and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping Knows how to interpret control point records and data sheets, as well as locate points in the field and can direct crew accordingly Knowledgeable of and understands plan reading and preparation (i.e., site plans, boundary plans, highway plans, profile and cross sections, horizontal and vertical curves, pipeline plans, foundation plans, and developing existing and finished contours) Knows how and enforces neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile and cross-section surveys Supervises crew Level vehicle and equipment inventory, loading and maintenance Makes timely requests for external equipment, procedural changes, new equipment purchases and vehicle maintenance to the Field Survey Manager.
