McLane Company, a prominent leader in supply chain solutions primarily in the grocery and foodservice sectors, is seeking a dedicated Travel Driver to enhance our distribution operations. The Travel Driver will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to specified locations within our national network consisting of over 80 distribution centers. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the quality of products supplied to convenience stores, mass merchants, drug stores, and chain restaurants across the United States. Safely operate commercial vehicles across designated routes. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines. Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards. Maintaining logs of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction. Inspecting goods during loading and unloading to ensure they are adequately secured and meet delivery specifications. Informing on any technical or mechanical failures. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Good driving record with no traffic violations. Strong problem solving and crisis management skills.
