Job Description:
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
practical experience. 5 years of experience in product management
or related technical role. 2 years of experience taking technical
products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution,
end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.). Experience developing consumer hardware
products. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in a technology
or business related field. Experience defining and launching
(internally or externally) development vehicles and
proof-of-concept prototypes. Familiarity with thermal management,
including thermal physics, materials, and software throttling
algorithms. Familiarity with power management, including telemetry
and profiling, charging strategies and algorithms, swell mitigation
algorithms, and battery chemistry and safety. Familiarity creating
“day of use” (DOU) models. Familiarity defining system architecture
requirements for silicon, including low-power sensing and media

human. In this role, you will define, build, and ship foundational
capabilities that power devices at the frontier of computing and
AI. You will play a critical role in shaping and building 0 to 1
products, influencing how users in the future will connect with
information, ideas and one another. The Platforms and Devices team
encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across
environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first
party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI,
software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design,
and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with
computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences
for our users around the world. The US base salary range for this
full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 bonus equity benefits. Our
salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within
the range, individual pay is determined by work location and
additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and
relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about

Responsibilities Define and iterate on the “day of use” profile,
including user journeys, duration, and detailed experience
descriptions. Define charging requirements (e.g., speed, charging
UI, reminders to charge), and battery health protection
requirements. Partner with Pixel research and development (R&D)
teams to define joint power and thermal requirements and
mitigations. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for wearable
interaction algorithms and work closely with user experience
research (UXR) to validate these with research. Work closely with
R&D teams to prototype and evaluate new technology
concepts.
