Job Description:
CCHCS seeks to fill a Limited-Term/Fulltime Supervising
Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF position in the Statewide Mental
Health Program.
Under the general direction of the Regional Mental Health
Administrator, the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF is
responsible for providing clinical supervision in a mental health
or counseling setting, including overseeing and guiding the work
through clinical supervision of unlicensed social workers or
students. The Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF may be
assigned to supervise and train unlicensed social workers or other
mental health staff that require clinical oversight. The
Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF plays a critical role
in monitoring the quality and safety of mental health services
provided to CCHCS patients and supporting unlicensed mental health
staff's professional growth and development and helps to maintain a
strong, established workforce to deliver quality care to patients
within CCHCS. The Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF is
also responsible for providing direct assistance to institutions,
which includes the identification and removal of obstacles to
providing mental health services, identification and monitoring of
corrective action plans, mentoring staff, and participation in the
Quality Management processes. Statewide travel is required with
this position.
This position is located in the Mental Health Program. The
program's mission is to provide ethical, professional, and
effective mental health care services for patients within all 35 of
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's
institutions statewide. With a competent, well-trained staff, they

successful reintegration into society, and reducing recidivism.
