Position Overview:
Sutter Amador Hospital has a rich history of providing care for residents and visitors of Amador County since 1876 and is the only hospital in Amador County serving a population over 40,000. Today, the 66-bed, acute care facility offers a full range of services including 24-hour emergency services with fast track, surgery, ob/gyn, diagnostic imaging, clinical laboratory, cardiology, gastroenterology, diabetes education and pediatrics. A Staff Nurse II is a licensed professional nurse who acts as a patient advocate to deliver individualized care through the use of the nursing process. The Staff Nurse II Coordinates total nursing care for patients. Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership byworking cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Important dimensions of this position consist of Clinical Judgment and Quality of Care; Caring Practices; Ethical Practice and Response to Diversity; Systems Effectiveness; Clinical Inquiry and Learning; and Leadership and Collaboration. These dimensions incorporate the competencies defined by the California Board of Registered Nursing and the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. Ability to work during weekdays, weekends, holidays, and various shift hours.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/ Knowledge, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration
Currently licensed as a Registered Nursing in State of California.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required, BSN preferred
Basic Life Support required
ACLS and PALS required
Experience
3-5 years of experience in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit, ICU or Emergency Department preferred.
2 years minimum in a hospital setting.
**Must be within 30 minutes of hospital for Call back requirements
Skills
Independently practices and prioritizes multiple demands in an ever-changing environment. Good
interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and teamwork skills are required. IV start capability, knowledge of ASPAN standards, EKG/ skills to monitor patients appropriately in the Acute and Outpatient PACUsetting_Demonstrated effective Communication skills with Nursing and Medical staff colleagues as well as with Ancillary staff
