Schedule : 7am to 5pm (Average 8-10 hr day)
What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of leading in a distribution environment preferred
  • 5+ year'ssupervisory/managementexperience required
  • Strong communication and leadership skills required
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift weights up to 50 pounds on a regular basis required
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred

    What is expected of you and others at this level

    • Manages Inbound department operations and supervises professional employees, frontline supervisors and/or business support staff
    • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
    • Develops leaders and frontline workers in leadership and operations
    • Decisions have a short-term and long-term impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers
    • Interacts with subordinates, peer customers and suppliers at various management levels, interacts and works closely with senior management
    • Interactions normally involves resolution of issues related to culture, operations and/or projects
    • Gains consensus from various parties involved/ Builds partnerships across various departments in and outside of the warehouse
    • Be flexible with schedule and available on off hours

      Accountabilities

      • Manages staff to ensure timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting distribution center standards of budget, policies, procedures, and quality
      • Recommends and implements programs, policies, and strategies to increase production and efficient space utilization within the facility
      • Responsible for manager and employee population development, training, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals
      • Ensures quality service is provided to customers and ensures prompt follow-through on customer correspondence related to shipment of merchandise
      • Accountable for implementing Lean Six Sigma initiatives and projects and educating employees
      • Prepares and submits daily and weekly production reports
