Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This contract position is located in Gridley, CA, and requires skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support educational programs in an onsite school setting. The role focuses on facilitating communication between deaf and hard of hearing students, their hearing peers, teachers, and school staff. Key Responsibilities: Provide sign to voice and voice to sign interpreting to ensure effective communication and educational access. Assist students in academic subjects including reading, writing, and math. Support students in vocational and living skills development. Monitor student activities during classroom, outdoor, and community events. Work primarily with elementary and intermediate school students (candidate preference considered). Qualifications and Experience: Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, or a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment is required. Candidates with an EIPA score under 4.0 may be considered as ASL Paras. Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and an Associates degree is preferred. Experience working in educational settings with deaf or hard of hearing students is highly desirable. Position Details: Full-time contract through May 28, 2026. Approximately 30 hours per week, 6 hours per day. Five open positions available. Onsite work required.
